The school day is not the only time when pupils can learn and discover new passions and talents. At Dukes Education, we believe that extracurricular activities offer a fantastic opportunity for children to explore new hobbies, continue learning in a fun and engaging way, or deepen their interest in a particular subject. That’s why, once again this year, the English School of Asturias has designed a comprehensive and varied extracurricular activities programme, featuring options in art, music, sport and technology. There is something to suit every student’s interests.
Each activity is delivered by a specialist teacher or trained instructor. What’s more, for the 2025–26 academic year, we have expanded the after-school bus service, available from Monday to Thursday, so that families can register their children for after-school clubs more easily. Would you like to find out more about how we support your child’s all-round development and how to sign them up? Keep reading.
All the Extracurricular Activities Available at the English School of Asturias
In the arts section, we offer classes in piano, guitar, ukulele, and manga art. For those interested in technology, students can join clubs in robotics, applied engineering and digital typing. We also offer a chess club and workshops in juggling and acrobatics, perfect for developing concentration, coordination and creativity.
This year’s sports programme is designed for pupils of all ages and levels. Our aim is to promote physical activity, teamwork and healthy lifestyle habits. The sports we offer include:
motor skills development, swimming, athletics, handball, football, Dojo Kids (an introduction to martial arts and discipline), dance and rhythm and FlexZone (a flexible space offering a range of sports activities).
Pupils can choose to take part in one or several activities, with the option to combine them according to their interests.

- For physical activities, help combat sedentary behaviour and improve coordination while encouraging healthy habits.
- Promote emotional wellbeing by providing a break from academic routines.
- Support family schedules and work-life balance through more flexible planning.
- Encourage the discovery of new interests and talents.
