Our student Mario Alonso, from Year 13, took part on Friday 16 January in the 62nd Spanish Mathematical Olympiad (OME), where he achieved an excellent sixth place in the district round, earning one of the diplomas awarded to the top 10 participants.
The Mathematical Olympiads are competitions aimed at young students, whose main objective is to encourage the study of Mathematics and to promote the development of talent in this field. It is a highly prestigious competition, structured in different stages of increasing difficulty, in which participants must tackle demanding problem-solving challenges.
The exercises are designed particularly to test reasoning skills, creativity and the ability to approach new situations — qualities that are essential in mathematical thinking.
At ESA, we would like to congratulate Mario on this significant achievement, which fills us with pride and reaffirms our commitment to excellence and to nurturing the talent of our students.
