Year 12 students Nel, Luis, Samuel and Javier, and Year 13 students Mateo and Andreu, have had the opportunity to take part as volunteer translators at the 2026 Subida Internacional al Fito, held this weekend in Arriondas.
During the event, the students provided linguistic support to drivers, teams and members of the organising committee from various countries. This experience allowed them to apply their language skills in a real-life context, as well as develop communication skills, adaptability and confidence in a professional, international environment.
Taking part in a sporting event of this level has been a valuable learning opportunity outside the classroom and an initial introduction to volunteering at international competitions. The students particularly highlighted how enriching the experience was, both academically and personally.
The school would like to sincerely thank all the student volunteers for their commitment, responsibility and excellent attitude throughout the activity. We would also like to express our gratitude to our Headteacher, Natalia Cáceres, and to Lisardo Hernández, Director of Institutional Relations for the event and member of the Parents’ Forum, whose involvement and support made this collaboration possible.
Thanks to this initiative, a door has been opened to future highly valuable educational experiences for our students, fostering practical learning, active participation and engagement with internationally significant events.
